The NCO Induction Ceremony is a relatively new tradition that still isn’t practiced everywhere. The idea is to take soldiers who have been promoted to Sergeant and give their new rank some meaning. Sergeant is supposed to be when a soldier transitions into a leader. It’s supposed to be a big deal.
When I was in Kalsu, the 172 Infantry Brigade held their own NCO Induction Ceremony on June 14th. The Army’s Birthday. It was pretty awesome because they did it at night with a huge bonfire, lots of pomp and ceremony, oh and did I mention fire.
