One of the more relevant tasks I perform is getting shoutouts. The 172nd Infantry Brigade wants to be on an AFN Europe show called Faces of Freedom. The show is 10 minutes every other week of shoutouts from a unit.

We also do shoutouts for holidays, sports teams, and Oprah. If you want to say hi to someone on tape, I’ll record it and send it up to dvidshub.

My favorite of all-time came the other day.

This was the second take. He told me what he was going to say before we recorded. I couldn’t stop from laughing the first time and my head bumped the camera. He doesn’t really have an uncle in the pen, but he wanted to a funny one. I’d say Beeson did a good job playing it straight.
