Leslie and I have been catching up on all the TV I’ve missed. I am now caught up on The Office. I love that show even though PFC Yo Lo Tango completely hates it. I forgot how the subject came up last week, but he doesn’t get why people like the show because it’s annoying and unfunny. Yo Lo Tango couldn’t be more wrong. The Office is a show that doesn’t use a laugh track, it’s in the fun mockumentary style, it mixes comedy and drama in a compelling way. I also enjoy the occasionally reading, www.creedthoughts.gov.www\creedthoughts on the NBC Office site. Yo Lo Tango just doesn’t know what’s good, after all he does have a passion for indie rock and ford vehicles.
Saturday we attended the final TCU home game of the year. Leslie and I got to see how the top 1% watches a football game in the old TCU Chancellor’s luxury box. TCU built six new suites in the South end-zone this year and the big-wigs moved their party and glad-handing over there. I got to hit up the suite because my boss at Lockheed buys a lot of football tickets for the company and TCU is trying to get a renter for the suite. The suite is on top of the press box at Amon G. Carter Stadium. You can have a spectacular bird’s eye view of the field from the upper deck and the only points higher are on the roof of the press box and at the top of the radio tower. The suite had a great spread of food, some nice people, and a the coup de’ gras, a private bathroom. It wasn’t a regular stadium bathroom with a urinal trough and stale odor. This bathroom had tile, an air wick vanilla air freshiner, designer pump soap and
monogramed paper towels. Oh, and TCU beat Air Force 44-10 in a game that was never close. There’s talk about Coach Gary Patterson leaving to coach Kansas State. He’s been a great coach for the last eleven years at TCU. I hope he stays. It could be time for him to move on. He’s really built this football program up to be recognized nationally by hardcore college football fans. Our next coach will be crucial to keeping that momentum going. The fans were chanting his name at the end of the game. I don’t feel like he was listening. TCU’s next game will be a bowl game. I’m guessing we’ll be at the Las Vegas Bowl on Dec. 20 against the Pac-10’s 4th pick. We’ll kick their ass.
After the game we met some friends at a bar to watch Texas Tech @ Oklahoma. The game was in Norman. My dad was at the game. I got a text message from him that said the place was the most crowded he’s seen. I’ve been at some crowded games, but he underestimated how Tech fans can congregate like a plague of grasshoppers when they think they can win a game. They did the same think a few years ago when they played TCU in Fort Worth. The bar we were at had quite a few Tech fans. There was one dude who kept yelling that OU was cheating. I’ve never heard so many different calls for holding in my life. That’s saying somehting because there’s a guy 3 rows behind us at OU games that sees holding or pass interfearance on every game. When OU would get a penalty, this guy at the bar would yell, “keep on cheating.” So when the Sooners would score, I would subtly yell, “Keep on cheating Sooners!” Then I gave my pattented Bob Stoops coach clap. It didn’t help that I had Kyle Pacette laughing at me and encouraging me. I know Leslie appreciated that. Everything turned out fine because this sore-loser booked it out of the bar in the middle of the third quarter. The triumphant Sooners won 65-21.
The best part about being home, other than sleeping next to my wife, is sleeping on a quality bed. My back hasn’t hurt at all on this bed. It has a nice pillow-top that allows me to sleep soundly.
Update: Apparently I was wrong about TCU coach Gary Patterson heading to K-State. Sunday Morning QB, Matt Hinton, explains. It looks like Bill Snyder will come out of retirement to coach the Wildcats again. He did good things for K-State by making them relevant in the Big 12. I remember growing up that K-State was a joke in the Big 8 and a guaranteed win for the Sooners. Let me put it this way, from 1935-1992 the Sooners record against K-State was 54-2-1 (thank you Soonerstats.com). It looks like with K-State hiring a coach who hasn’t been on a field in three years, they will continue their trek to their Big 8 days.
And now gratuitous photos of the TCU Campus….in a slideshow.

TCU has changed too much for me; I guess I’m sentimental…
oh, and the Office is awful this season!
PFC Yo Lo Tango is obviously a man with great taste. The only show that is more overrated than The Office would have to be Seinfeld.
