Prior Service Army Soldiers + Kareoke + Wine Tasting Party = ????

That was the equasion of my Friday this past weekend. The answer is "A good time."

Pete decided at the beginning of the week he wanted to host a little wine tasting party. He got a few bottles, his roommate got one and I got one.

Coppola Claret
Red Knot Sheraz
3 Blind Moose Chardonnay
A hommade wine brought by someone in the Coast Guard
Big Red Monster

I wasn't pleased with many of the selections. The hommade wine tasted like communal wine. The 3 headed moose was all front-loaded on the taste and didn't leave an impression at all. The Red Knot was a bit watered down. The Coppola was pretty good, but I can't tell you why I liked it. We ended up having about 8 people in a 10x20 room chatting most of the night. The night before, three of us went and bought some cheese and wine for the party. We got 4 different cheeses, gouda, brie, pepper jack, and that tasty cheese with dill. When we paid for the cheese, the checker -- who couldn't have been over 16 -- saw our total was $35, she looked at us and judged us. I believe she said something like, "So, what are three Air Force guys doing buying $35 in cheese and crackers." We acted offended and said, "we are in the Army" hoping she would forget about her initial question. She was too smart for us. All we could do was look her in the eye and tell her about the wine tasting party. I know she wanted to revoke our man cards right then and there, but I wasn't carrying mine at the time.

Once 10:00 hit, we went to Jim's Hideaway for some Kareoke. My song of the night was Lisa Loeb's Stay. I brought the house down again. I know they didn't think I could get gayer than singing Oklahoma. They were wrong.

Who doesn't love this video where she just runs around the house??? The direction is amazing.

Kareoke may be an every other week thing. It's pretty fun.

This is me turning the radio on and the radio off :) The rest of the photos in flickr.
